Terms of service
Last updated: 2 September 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ZigStream, provided by ZigStream SRL , a société à responsabilité limitée registered in Brussels, Belgium (“ZigStream”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use ZigStream.
1. The service
ZigStream provides hosted telemetry ingestion, live device visibility, historical telemetry, dashboards, APIs, and related functionality for Zigbee2MQTT or similar installations.
ZigStream is a reporting and telemetry service. It does not replace your Zigbee coordinator, Zigbee2MQTT installation, MQTT broker, local automations, or other local infrastructure unless explicitly stated in the applicable documentation.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep that information current. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and API tokens.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless the activity resulted from ZigStream’s failure to apply reasonable security measures after you notified us of unauthorized access.
3. API keys and connected installations
API keys and ingest tokens are credentials. Keep them private, do not commit them to public repositories, and do not share them with people who should not access your account.
You are responsible for the Zigbee2MQTT installations and devices that you connect to ZigStream, including the legality and appropriateness of the telemetry you send.
If you believe a token has been exposed, revoke it or contact us promptly atsupport@zigstream.app.
4. Acceptable use
You may use ZigStream only in compliance with applicable law and these Terms.
You must not:
- Use the service to violate another person’s rights or privacy.
- Send malicious code, unlawful content, or data you are not authorized to process.
- Attempt to bypass plan limits, authentication, rate limits, or security controls.
- Probe, scan, or test the service for vulnerabilities without written permission.
- Interfere with the service or attempt to access another account’s data.
- Use the service to build a competing service where prohibited by applicable law.
- Use the service in safety-critical systems where failure could cause injury, death, or significant property damage.
5. Plans, limits, and changes
Available plans, message limits, device limits, retention periods, and other restrictions are described on the applicable pricing or service page.
We may introduce, modify, or discontinue plans and features. If a change materially affects an existing paid subscription, we will provide notice where required by law or the applicable agreement.
Current free-tier limits are described here: 250,000 events per month (rate limited to one batch of events per second).
6. Fees and payment
If paid plans become available, applicable fees, billing intervals, taxes, renewal terms, cancellation rules, and refund conditions will be shown before purchase or described in an order form.
Payment processing may be handled by a third-party payment provider. You must provide accurate billing information and authorize applicable charges.
7. Your data
You retain your rights in the data and telemetry that you submit to ZigStream. You grant ZigStream the limited rights needed to host, process, transmit, display, secure, and provide the service.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit that data and authorize ZigStream to process it as described in thePrivacy Policy.
Our handling of personal data is described in thePrivacy Policy.
8. Service availability and data limitations
We aim to operate a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that ZigStream will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
Telemetry can be delayed, incomplete, duplicated, malformed, or unavailable because of local network conditions, Zigbee2MQTT, MQTT, device behavior, configuration, internet connectivity, maintenance, or other causes outside our control.
Do not rely on ZigStream as the sole monitoring or control path for safety-critical, security-critical, medical, or emergency use.
9. Changes and support
We may update the service, documentation, APIs, and technical requirements. You are responsible for reviewing relevant documentation and keeping connected installations compatible with supported versions.
Support is provided through email , subject to the plan or service description applicable to your account.
10. Intellectual property
ZigStream and its software, documentation, design, trademarks, and service components are owned by or licensed to ZigStream and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of ZigStream intellectual property to you.
11. Third-party services
ZigStream may depend on or interoperate with third-party services, software, networks, and devices. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies, and ZigStream is not responsible for third-party products or services except where required by law.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using ZigStream and close your account according to the account controls or instructions provided by us.
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create a security or operational risk, fail to pay applicable fees, misuse the service, or where required by law.
On termination, access to the service may stop and data may be deleted according to our retention and deletion policies. Export any data you need before closing your account.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZigStream is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis. We disclaim warranties that are not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement, except where such disclaimers are not permitted.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZigStream will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data arising from or related to the service.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and hold harmless ZigStream from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your submission of data that you were not authorized to process.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium , without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
The courts of Brussels, Belgium shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights or dispute procedures that apply.
